I have recently acquired a Rem 700 .223 VS and would like to mount a 6-24 Mil Dot scope on it, or something similar to it. The scope would be primarily to shoot varmints, and to do a little paper punching when at the range. The scope will be mounted with Leopold 2 piece base & rings.
Now I know that none of these scopes would be considered high quality scopes (BSA,Tasco & Barska), but right now funds are a bit tight and I kind of need to be able to see what I’m shooting at. Now I have heard from a friend that the quality on the Tasco scopes has come up in recent years, and it’s the only reason I’m even considering them in the first place.
I can’t seem to find much on BSA and Barska so if anyone has used either of their Mil Dot scopes let me know what you think of them. So which of these scopes would be better to mount on the gun?
Also if anyone has a good quality used Mil Dot Scope that they would like to sell and is of variable power, send me a message! I might just buy it.
Ideally looking for 6-24, but would settle for something a little less.
