Hey Guys....

So if you're not using a set of rings with articulated mounts like the Burris SigZee's, doesn't shiming one end cause the scope tube to bend?

No,, why would it bend ??

You're not shiming it 3/8"..

You'd only be shimming it several thousands of an inch...

It won't hurt the tube at all...

Discuss.

I would say yes but most people do it anyways. I know of someone who broke or bent their scope (or something along those lines) because of shimming it.

I try to stick with the inserts and burris signature zee rings but if not the pop can shim works....

if your concerned with the scope tube bending or even just for peace of mind with any new mount you can get some emery cloth or 200gt and a dowel then roughly line hone the ID of the ring's while mounted on the base to make them true.... even with all new part's you might be surprised to see what the factory let's slip out the door.

I actually have a Skeeter V-Block coming. It has a barrel drop compensation screw and I have chatted with a fellow over at RFC that had the same problem as me and a Skeeter v-block fixed his nicely.
