Scope recommendation VX-III vs. M4

I know it is not, strictly speaking, a tactical scope. But, how well would a Leupold VX-III 1.5-5x20mm work on an AR? Other than the retical, I can't see how it is much different than the Mark 4 1.5-5x20mm MR/T M2

I would work fine, but the Mk4 is a much better scope. Optics are clearer, there is more adjustment, the adjustment is easier although courser .5MOA on the Mk4. You only get one rotation of the range dial so no confusion on zero. I have the Mk4 and really like it.
