Scope recommendation

What scope would you guru's mount to a Sako Varmint in 22 LR/Magnum for shooting between 20 - 50 yrds? Will be used primarily for close range prairie rats.
Want above average optics - a scope to match the rifle
I was leaning towards a Sightron SII or Mueller APV?
Some direction would be greatly appreciated.

With a rifle like that why limit yourself to 20 - 50?
There is not much difference in the thought process between a .22 and a centrefire . . . put the best scope on you can afford. I put a Bushnell 3 - 9 on a Marlin 39a Mountie and we were shooting gophers out to 100 yards. My other .22's carry a T-36, a 10X Leopold and a Tasco 2.5 - 10
PS The Bushnell scope was a gimme!

Myself, I prefer the smaller scopes on rimfires. Weaver has some nice units for the money. The new Redfield 4-12 might be a nice choice for the money. FS
