Scope Recommendations for my DPMS Oracle

Good morning all. I love my hobby even though I will be in debt forever over it. What I'd like is to solicit opinions for the best value of scope currently available for my .223. It's got the top rail on the receiver and I just can't seem to find in person or online a reasonable (and atleast minimally cool) scope that seems to be suitable for this rifle. I'm not married to any particular features of the scope other than I want it to look good and be functionally effective at the range. Built in riser? Variable zoom perhaps (4x-9x)? red dot, green dot (maybe)? hmmm... The big thing is that the cost needs to remain in the three digits value but be as good as I can get ahold of. I'm not really interested in those holographic sights either.
