Just curious as to whether you use open (bead) sights on your shotgun or do you mount a scope/red dot for Turkey hunting?
 
I say use whatever works the best for you. I prefer a reddot on my shotgun, as it allows me to be more precise when aiming for a turkey's head/neck.

To date I have only used existing bead sights on my shotgun and while I have yet to miss a Turkey I can see the advantage of using a red dot especially on dark days in the woods when getting a good bead picture is difficult.
 
I'm using a ghost ring setup similar to a tru-glo. I'm a big fan of it over the stock beads which I had a hard time seeing. The benefit for me being they clamp onto the vent rib and stay with that barrel, and i'm not swapping red dots and scopes when I use my rifled barrel. They are a bit of a poor man's red dot!

I'm running a bushnell banner shotgun scope on a remington mount on a 870 turkey gun (21" barrel) It seems to do the job!
 
I've yet to catch the turkey 'bug', so my turkey setup is simply a xfull choke in my Baikal MP153. My wife wanted to try turkey hunting & the closest we got was 75 meters to a big tom who wouldn't close the distance any further. Oh ya, my wife has her 20 ga Remington 870 set up with an Undertaker xfull choke tube. Both of us chose #5 pellets in 3 inch shells.

Around Ottawa, access to property IS the main issue. If you don't have access, you ain't hunting!

We are going to be out on Saturday, here's hoping my wife gets her FIRST turkey!!! 4 deer & one bear so far for her, HOPING FOR TURKEY!!!

I've always gone with just the bead sight for me.... I see advantages to a red dot or a low power scope but the plain ol' bead has never let me down to date so why change what works..

My longest with the bead was a strutting Tom that got hung up in the bush at 46 yards. He strutted back and forth in a five foot range for 20 minutes but wouldn't cross a tiny creek. The brush was fairly thick but I found a shootin lane by laying on my belly and when he strutted into it he took some 3" Kent #5's to the head...
 
Circle dot scope low power 1.75 to 5 try one you will never go back to bead.
Put scope on head follow the movement when you pull the trigger he will be dead!!
 
Probably not popular here, but my 70 year old hunting partner uses an old Iver Johnson single barrel painted flat black years ago with NO front sight and every time he points it at a big gobbler it dies. But, hes real good at sitting still anf never moves and usually shoots them at under 20 yds
 
I've harvested turkeys with both a bead and a red dot. The last couple years I've been using a red dot and am quite liking it. I changed red dots this year and still getting used to this one but still managed to take 2 jakes, 1 yesterday and 1 today.
 
The only shotgun I have right now (Benelli Nova) has beads so that's what I use for all my shotgun hunting. I might pick up a turkey gun with sights later but for now my Nove is getting the job done just fine. :)
 
Red/green williams firesights (fiber optic) on front and back. Still sitting in my safe though. This week too sick to get out and sit on the ground in these temps. Hoping for better health and warmer weather next week!
 
We did use a low power scope for a few years, but switched to red dot sights... and like them much better... shooting with both eyes open and a super wide, bright field of view helps alot... we won't go back to a scope and before I switch to a bead sight, I'll pick up my bow.
 
I hunted with low power scope and red dot, both have plus and minus. Rain is a big issue with wet glass,fogging.
Now using a bps 24 " barrel with open sights.
