So just how f&*^ing long is it supposed to take for a warranty repair anyways?

Sent to Bushnell June 20th and it ain't back yet. I would have bought another if I knew it was going to be that long.

Anybody know the turn around times for Leupold repairs?

Six to eight weeks usually, might be longer now that hunting season is here. I dont own any Bushnell scopes, but have friends who do and they have had the same problem you are going through.

Good luck!

PEI Rob,
Turnaround on Bushnell scopes averages 3 months. That can stretch out a bit during peak seasons. I've sent a bunch back, but no more. I'm done with that make. Leupold is apparantly 2-3 weeks, but I have never broke one, ever. That's not to say that it will never happen, but so far so good.

I'm more than a little pissed about it. Higginson said 2-3 weeks if I sent it in and usually longer if he did. If he would have been accurate in his statement, I would have bought another instead of waiting. Won't be buying a Bushnell now will I

Looks like I'll keep buying Leupolds from now on.

PEI Rob,
So are you still waiting, or did you get it back in 93 days? 3 months is about average. It sure takes the teeth out of the old "It has a lifetime warranty, so it must be good" argument doesn't it? Hopefully you don't have safe full of them.
After being forced to change out nearly every scope I owned, I still can't hear that Bushnell name without getting mad. I don't believe that they even make optics, just have them built to price and have their own logo stamped on.

Over 2 months and they still have not looked at mine. They don't return calls or answer the phone. I will never buy another Bushnell product again.

I've had scopes that needed work on two occasions.

Once it was a Leupold. Took it back to Williams' Arms, where I had bought it used, and they sent it in for me. Took a few weeks, came back good as new, cost me about 10 bucks for shipping/handling/etc.

The other occasion was a Bushnell, a cheapie 3-9x AO airgun/rimfire model that cost less than $100 several years previously. The adjustable objective went haywire. Bushnell has (or at least had at that time...6 or 7 years ago) a repair outlet in Scarborough. Took it in to them in person, explained my problem, watched the guy take it into the back room, and within 60 seconds was handed a brand-new, slightly-upgraded version of the same scope. I was happy as a clam.

In neither instance was I asked for a receipt, warranty registration card, or anything else. Good thing, cause I didn't have any.

For a serious hunting trip, I just feel better with a Leupold on my gun. For the vast majority of my guns, shooting casually, just for fun, Bushnell fills the bill nicely.

I sent one back on the 9th of this month and hope to have it back by Christmas or New Years, judging by what I've heard here.

93 days to get it back. It took a little less than that for Bushnell to loose a customer. Leupold has already gotten my business in the mean time, I picked up a VX3. I may get a Nightforce NXS for a target rifle, however I will check into their rep beforehand. Fool me twice, shame on me.
