I just got a brand new Browning A-bolt stainless stalker in .300 mag and I need to mount my leupold scope. I am curious as to the proper ring height? The browning website says I can away with low rings but I am concerned that this still isn't tall enough. My scope is a 3-9X40. I think that the last gun this scope was mounted on had medium rings on it. Just looking for some advice as I have to order the rings and would like to get it right on the first try.

Also, any opinions on the browning rings and bases?

Ive seen Talley rings packaged in Browning plastic

low Talleys will work fine with 40mm

if using something else, Medium will be a good choice

I had low Leupold standard rings on mine before I sold it. Worked fine with a 40mm objective. It's usally the bolt that gets in the way of mounting scopes super low, but with Brownings 60 degree lift you don't have this problem.
