Hey all,

With a little more effort I found the answer, 30mm tube, 30mm rings. Correct me if I'm wrong.

While I have you attention, is it safe to say medium height rings would work on a arms 18 or similar?

Thanks.

Well, a 40mm scope should fit on top of an M14 with no problem using Med height rings.

Not sure how high the Arm 18 is specifically, but I currently use low rings on my machine with no clearance problems. My scope mount hovers over the receiver high enough.

The arms mount seems considerably lower then mine, so medium might be the trick unless someone chimes in that you need higher.

I like to have my scope as low as possible and would recommend the same.
The comb on the M14 is ergonomic to the iron sights, and a scope can feel a bit high.

Most scopes use 1" rings unless otherwise noted and it's not otherwise noted on the Bushnell website. I would measure it . . . you must have a ruler around somewhere ?

Another thing you want to worry about is the quality of ring. You need something heavy duty, with perhaps 4 bolts per ring instead of 2. The recoil of that rifle is going drift the scope after several firings with a 2 hole ring. Some rings are 30mm with 1" spacers, I would avoid those.

A nice set of weaver 6 hole tactical rings is what I recommend.

You're just going to have to go ahead and buy the base you want, then do some measurements to get an idea of the minimum clearance you need.

I believe you are right, after holding it beside a tape, it measures 1''. Further googling brought me to an American site, in the features they too list "Product features: 1.0'' Tube" So thanks for helping clear that up.

As for rings, I've read good things about Burris and the XTR's caught my eye, but will be one the look out for the weaver tactical.

Thanks for the in site.

If the XTR rings you're talking about are the same that came up in my search, they look solid, should do the job quite nicely.

I only vouch for the weavers cause they are the only ones in that quality range I've used personally.

Actually right now, on my M14, I've doubled up on Tasco walmart specials. Lol.
One set the scope was all over the place. 2 sets looks kind of cool and seems to do the trick. The Weavers, which I originally bought for the M14, ended up on my 223 target rifle along with my Minox 4-20x50mm.

Mine has Burris XTR low rings and has a Vortex Viper 6.5x20x50 on a Smith 2024 mount and still has room for the scope covers

The Promag mount has been changed to a Smith. For all purposes they are the exact same mount
