Today my scope mount arrived...a Springfield Armory Gen 3.
Everything went together perfectly on my 305, but I was shocked when a set of Leupold Tactical 30mm rings wouldn't sit on it properly.
The rings came off my 50 BMG which supposedly has similar style base and they fit great on that. I tried a set of TPS rings which originally came with the 50 for a 1" scope, and they fit perfectly on the 305.
Are the Springfield mounts slightly different or are the Leupold rings to blame ?
What would be a suitable ring to use and who sells them ?
I don't really want to use the TPS rings because they are so tall I have to kneel on the butt stock to see thru the scope....well almost !
