Scope rings?

They are tight enough when they don't slip on recoil. They are to tight if you break a screw.

I am sure 48 inch pounds is more than enough.

The Burris site recomends base screws to be torqued at 22 inch lbs.,attach holes less than 6 threads at 12 inch lbs., and windage screws at no more than 40 inch lbs.
Also , I had e-mailed them awhile ago and they recomend cross screws at 65 inch lbs. and ring half attach screws at 24 inch lbs. These were for Burris Zee- rings.....Ken

Keep an eye on the rings where they join. too much torque the bottom ring flange will not be parallel with the top ring flange............this usually results in a damaged scope tube...........
