Scope Rings ?

Burris custom signature zee rings. They are machined from a single piece of steel and fit the bases precisely. Best feature are the plastic inserts that take stress off the scope should there by any misalignment of the rings, don't damage the scope finish, and allow for adjustments of elevation by using different inserts. Cost around $75 for the 1" tube and $130 for the 30mm tube (roughly).

I also like Leupold QRW's for being nicely machined and easy to take off, and Talley's for being well made and having a good design.

Completely agree re the Burris sig rings. And you can buy them for less than that from Mystic Precision (site sponsor.)

One caution: be sure you get the right height for your scope. There isn't any standard definition of height among manufacturers. Burris rings tend to be a little lower than some other brands.

If you want to know exactly how high any rings are, and the manufacturer's web site doesn't say (which is typical), look them up on the Brownell's site. Brownell's carries almost every brand and provides complete specs on all of them.

Whats a really good brand and type of scope rings?

In your opinion what makes them better than the next?

From my experience Nightforce makes a very good scope mounting ring, at $160 for a set of rings they are not cheap but they are worth it.

Although I do not have personal experience with them I have heard badger ordinance is very good as well. Might try them on my next project.

It all depends on the usage, and on the particular gun. On my target rifle, using a rail, I am using Nightforce rings, but on my hunting rifles, I use Leupold or Talley rings.
