Hiyas,

I recently posted something about the grand slam bases and rings and got a lot of feedback on the base but nobody had experience with the rings. So here I am again, looking for advice on scope rings. Anyone have feedback on weaver rings?

I'm getting a rem 700 in .308, it's sort of a project for me, down the line I'll probably have just the action as an original part. I want quality, but I know nothing about scope rings/bases, I'd like to hear your suggestions and why you would use them. I have a 3-10x40 elite 3200 for scope (built for short actions), rifle will be m700 sps, down the line I would like to switch the stock for a Robertson, and the barrel for a Gaillard, etc... you get my drift. It will allways remain a hunting rifle though, and a nice one at that. :D

I just havent decided what to use for base and rings. Please help me, I'm open to anything and my experience doesn't go anywhere beyond iron sights. I've been hunting for 14ish years with good ol' iron sights.:D Time to step up.

edit: How do I know if I need high/med/low rings?

Thanks

I have a warne base and tps rings on my 22 250 rem 700 and love them
I also believe you can get light weight tps rings
talk to joe at rsp international he has lots of that stuff

I like Talley rings, and the lows would work just fine with a 40mm objective scope.

They are super lightweight, and are one piece units, so one less thing to shake loose possibly. 4 torx head screws on each ring top too.

Go with either the grand slam bases or a TPS al. rail (light weight - higher strength) and TPS HRT al7075 rings. Super strong, many mounting options and light weight. If you want two piece bases - Grand slams are the ticket....
