Peace everyone,

So i got a tikka ctr 20" barrel 308. Looking to figure out what scope i have to put on to start with to hunt deer with.
Going into Alberta.
I have:
Weaver 1 to 3
Strike eagle1-6
Vortex crossfire 2 t0 7
Burris 3 to 12
Bushnell 2.5to 8

I was thinking the crossfire with 2-7, but also the weaver is very light. So is the Bushnell its a older one. Not looking to shooting over 200 yards. 200 yards will be the max. The heaviest is the strike eagle but it has alot of nice features.

I cant seem to make a decisions so looking for input.

IMHO after using a lot of different scopes, The best cheap hunting scope I use on almost all of my hunting rifles because my funds doest not allow me to go higher, are the Vortex Viper and Viper HD's. The one I prefer is the ViperHD 2.5-10X44. Great hunting scope. But from your list I d go with Burris.
The Strike Eagle reticule is WAY too busy for hunting use I think.

Under 200 yards, which ever optic of those has the best glass and light gathering capabilities. Even 3x magnification is enough for hunting out to 200 yards, though more is nicer to be able to define your shot better. I personally hate everything Vortex, so i would personally pick the Bushnell or the Burris. Although if the Burris is the older ScopeChief IV and the Burris is the newer Fullfield I would choose the Burris.

I like these scopes enough that I have sold a few “higher end” ones and replaced them.

I like the 3-15 myself and have two of them. I also have a 2.5-10 but will be replacing that with another 3-15. Negligible weight penalty and I like my deer to look big! Lol.

Also looking at a 25x. The glass, imo, is as good or better than the PST series which I have on my long range rig.

Just too bad about the tariff situation.

Its a fullfield 2. Ill go with that.

Thank you everyone for the imput.

The Tikka CTR weights 7.8 lbs before you put a scope and rings on it, so decide what is the maximum weight you will want to carry. The combined weight of my CTR with a primary arms 3-18x50 scope is 9.865 lbs. I also have a Tikka Battue which weighs 6.2 lbs or 7.7 lbs with primary arms SLx 1-6x24mm

Sell as many of those as you need to, and buy a Leupold 2.5 to 8 x 36. It will work on every hunting rifle you want. A factory rep a long time ago told me that at least at the time that was the brightest scope in their entire line.
