Ok I know this would probably result in a huge long thread in the Optics section but I am wondering suggestions on scopes for an M14. I heard that the semi-auto fire of an M14 can make most scopes run home crying to momma. Im only taking suggestions right now as I really can't afford a scope at this time.

Now the biggest thing is that I'd prefer a Mil-dot type recticle.

A member on these forums got me a cheap $25 scope mount and $75 dollar scope as a welcome to the M14 crows gift, which I figure aren't going to last too long so I was just thinking of selling those to the airsoft crowd. :D

Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 mildot.
I have been buying Bushnell Elite 3200 for my gopher guns...this one is supposed to be "magnum" tough. For about $125 we'll see how well it holds up. The mount will deflect the cases away from the scope.

I just got mine in from SIR/Cabela's, mounted but haven't got a chance to sight it in yet.

Itis the Cabela's Lever Scope that has a BDC Reticle in it,

The idea is to extend range of 'typical lever gun'.

The catch here is Marlin just came out with a .308 Marlin Cartridge. (not interchangable) But if you look at the ballistics comparison chart on Marlin's site, you will see it is an almost match.

The scope has marking on the reticle going down the vertical portion on the cross, it is to be sighted in for 100 then the nextmark is for 200 then the last one is 300 yrds.

3x9 x40 .... ideally,I would have planned for a slightly shorterlength/size of scope, but it is offering what I'm looking for.

Have pic but not sure on posting here. It's ready to be sighted in, objective lense cap on back order though.

I'll pass the pic on if someone will set it up here.

considering your current financial situation it's too much, otherwise they are fairly priced and pretty much the favorite around here (that's from all the feedback I read)

Well I looked at two 3200's and both of them didn't have the "external" type windage and elevation knobs (sorry don't know the proper terminology).
