I'm currently sitting with an NXS 5.5-22x56 with the NP1-RR reticle. When I first started using it I thought it was way to busy to have any benefit. Now that there's snow everywhere and my Leica 1200s don't seem to work as well I find the range finding capabilities necessary.
So here's my problem/question. The scope is sitting on my 7mm STW that I cannot carry during any form of open hunting season. There is a cow elk season going on where I planned to call coyotes over the winter, removing this gun from my options. The other weapon I'm using is a .22-243 Middlestead equipped with a VX-III 6.5-20x50 with the Varminteer reticle (legal for varmints as it is <.23 cal). Would I be able to swap the NXS to the Middlestead, and zero it. Then record the elevation/windage adjustments for the new zero to reverse when I swap it back to the STW? Can I count on it holding zero? The base on the Middlestead is a Mark 4 20 MOA and the base on the STW was a custom machined 20 MOA to fit my Sako AV.
I've personally got nothing against the VX-III, I've just grown fond of the NP-1RR..
