Today when I was out shooting my 10/22, my scope fogged up. On the inside! It is a $100 Bell scope(made in korea), so I doubt there is any warranty 10 years later. Can it be fixed reasonably, or should I just buy another scope? If I do, should I get a bushnell elite, nikon, leupold or one of those muellers everyone on rimfirecentral are buzzing about? Should I be getting one with adjustable objective? I need some advice please.:kickInTheNuts:

Scope

Rob, there are an infinite number of ways to approach this. You can say to yourself, I shot very well with my 10 year old $100.00 Bell, why would I need to spend $350.00 for a Nikon. Perhaps you feel that you are now able to afford some higher quality optics. All of my 22's have different scopes but I doubt that I would look at anything more expensive than a Bushnell Banner. IIRC they made a fairly nice 4-12x40 that would do just fine on top of a 10/22. FS

Not worth fixing. If you want a budget scope for a .22 pick up a bushnell with a warranty so down the road you can get it fixed pretty easily ( You will be doing this sooner or later ) I have a Legend model on one of my toys. It has been quite reasonable and for the one with the AO and 15X capabilities it was under $250. If you have the coin pick up a higher end scope though. In scope land you do get what you pay for.

Note: in my experience I have found .22 semi autos rather hard on scopes. My old 10/22 took out two separate cheap bushnells in one year.

Thanks for the advice. The bell had decent clarity beleive it or not, but I won't buy another one. The Mueller dealer for Canada is close by, so I'm going to see one on Monday. They supposedly have optical clarity and brightness better than a 3200 elite Bushnell, but I'll find out soon enough. I'm also going to see what the deal is with their warranty. Update to follow.
