I've got an SR22 w/ an ncstar scope (Yeah I know they're cheap). It holds zero after i sight it in at the range, but then when I bring it home and go back next time it's way off again. Do you think it's just that it is not on tight enough, I don't want to break the quick release by putting it too tight. Or is it just that it's a crap scope? It's the 1.25 to 4x compact scope w/ quick release and i've got it on a riser.
thanks

The POI changes on most scopes when you remove and replace them, even more so on cheaper setups. Buy a bigger gun case and leave it on.

it doesn't rattle, i think i'll try tightening it and keeping it in a hard case. right now i have a soft case...the hard case is for my savage cause it has a bigger scope on it that won't fit in the soft care.
thanks for the ideas...and yeah I know shoulda bought a better scope.

'Cheap glass aint good, and good glass aint cheap'.

I was thinking of the NcStar myself, but after hearing that, I thought against it. Why buy a scope 4 times, and deal with the time of re-sighting, mounting, trips to the shop, and the general aggravation when you buy spend a little more on good glass, and not worry about it.

I use the same philosophy on everything. Spend a bit extra now, dont spend more later.

I have 2 NcStar scopes, they work well. While the scope is inexpensive, I suggest buying a quality set of rings/mount.

I had a problem of scope wandering zero. Bought good mounts, problem solved.

Bad scope

I bought a bushnell that was made in china to save money. I believe the model was a banner. I was tuning in a 308 savage 99. I was almost done zeroing it in, and then bam, nothing, couldn't hit paper. removed the scope, used my iron sites and had no problems hitting paper. The re-coil busted it. Replaced it with a bushnell legend, made in Portugal, hasn't broke yet. If it does break I have a lifetime guarantee. I had to argue with the clerk for and exchange with the banner, but I I convinced him because the damn thing was brand new just out ot the box. So the moral of the story is DON'T BUY A CHEAP SCOPE.
