Scoped my .22 GSG STG 44 on the cheap :)

I love my STG44 metal sights, but like a scope option too.

Looked at the GSG scopemount offering, but always prefer back up sights when using glass, old school I guess. Removing the rear ramp sight assembly did not interest me at all.

When I did some checking it was mentioned a 4 claw HK scopemount fits the STG 44. So took a chance ordered a metal mount with 20mm rails off Ebay (14.00) and wow it fits great!!!


It is very rigid, next I found some QD 25/30mm scope rings (12.00), an old 2x6 Fitco scope (30.00), bore sighted it.

The check weld is great, and the scoperings come off quick if I want to use the ramp sights.

I placed the cleaning brush and allen keys in the buttstock cavity.

Looks different, but I like it better now, just need to find me some gophers.

How did it end up shooting?

Shot really well. I did take off the scope for the irons, but the scope definitely is easier on small targets. If not shooting smaller targets the irons work great, its pretty accurate.
