scopeing the modle 94

i know i know why in the hell would you wont to do it.... but it is not my rifle lol its my uncles and he bought it for his wife. but she has really bad eye sight and needs a scope to shoot correctly.
i need some suggestions on where to get a mount and how much work it would take to install. i would also like to know what are the best mounts.

Nothing wrong with scoping a .30.30.

My 336 has a 4 x 38 Bushnell cheapy with weaver bases and Bushnell rings.

If I changed anything it would be the quality of the scope.

The 4X works really well bringing things in considering the effective range drops off at 125 yds.

The install is easy providing the rifle is drilled/tapped and ready to go.

Make sure you use a thread locker on all of the threaded fasteners. Even a .30.30 had enough energy to throw off a scope that is not intalled (tightened) properly.

'94 Winchesters of modern vintage (angle eject) will take a top mount scope. Those of earlier vintage require either a side mount, or a scout mount with a pistol scope.
I couldn't do it to one of mine, It's sacriledge.

Absolutley. The shooting practice you'll get fending off the hordes of lever-fanatics bearing pitchforks, torches and hot tar will quickly sharpen your skills to a razor edge

Vintage '94's should NEVER have extra holes drilled in them. If you wanna scope a '94 get a modern AE version with the holes already tapped or get a Marlin...
