Scopemounting For a 303 Enfield

That rifle looks to have had its charger bridge removed - a common mod. You'll have to go to a side mount, as the usual Weaver T01 mount uses the charger bridge.

Williams makes a side mount for the Enfield 303. I've used them once or twice. Put out a WTB for a Parker Hale setup (if they made one for the No1 Mklll), but expect to pay bookoo $ if they did.

Ellwood Epps will be able to get any Williams part in if you need it. Last time I was there they sold a guy a scope mount for a nice old Enfield like yours. Give them a call they should be able to help you and if for some reason they can't, then they will send ya off in the right direction.

Thanks,

Well, i may have machined you one but it seem that the metal part behind your bolt for the stripper clip have been shaved ???

Looks like you'll just have to just forget about the whole idea; Inukshuk, it appears there isn't a scope that's made shoddily or cheaply enough for a SMLE #1 MKIII*.:rolleyes: Maybe he was thinking along the lines of a Weaver or something like that, I would not mind a Weaver on my SMLE, I have one of their .22 scopes and I find it quite well made, I was thinking of putting a Leupold VXIII Boone & Crokett on mine, but am reconsidering.

Yes, it's a 45 ACP conversion. It actually feed very well from standard 1911 mag (2nd pic) i have also the synthetic forend cut down to fit with the barrel. I have threaded the barrel for flash suppressor (only for the look, no flash after 16 in. barrel) All AR and M-16 stock will fit with the adaptor i have solder there. I'am thinking of a ACE folding once finished. Shoot pretty good too, little less than 2in at 50m. As soon as my shop is finished, will post pic and range report

Hey Inukshuk, nice to meet you, i should be in Inukjuak at the end of september. The partner of my wife is the new Gamewarden there now, Richard and his wife, we will visit them, hope to meet you too there.

For the bridge, i don't know if the receiver is made for that ?? or if it have been shaved, don't have a lot of knowledge on Enfield...

hey inukshuk, marstar has a mount for enfields made by advanced techologies but you do need your charger bridge with the holes drilled for the flip over peep-vernier sight. they are a little pricey for what you get. they fit with set screws and are aluminum. i've done a few and the results are okay. sendero , thats great, nothing at all wrong with being creative and wood on the end of the bolt handle!!! that's classy man!!!
