A quick question. I know that Tikka have their optilock base and ring system but do they also come drilled and tapped for weaver bases ?

That's funny because my Tikka 695 master all-weather stainless synthetic in 6.5x55 came factory drilled & tapped for Weaver bases. I've got Weaver #61's on mine as it has the flattop receiver. Here's a link to the Weaver chart showing the Weaver bases for Tikka rifles... ;)

And here's my Tikka rifle with Weaver bases & Burriz "Z" rings...

the tikka t3's are drilled and tapped. if you don't want to spring for optilocks, which are great, try millet. they use the groved rail and have the recoil stop too.

Millet's...........well maybe on standard everyday cartridges. I have had them fall apart on me twice with bigger cartridges on Sako rifles, and I mean fall apart. Once was when I pulled the trigger on a nice blackie...during recoil the scope hit me in the side of the head as it flew by and landed in the dirt.

Go with Leupold or Warne.
