Just was flipping through a catalogue and saw these new (to me) scopes with built in rangefinders. I know Bushnell and Burris both make a cheap model and was wondering if any of you guys have these??
I was thinking of buying one and mounting it on my coyote gun this winter, the Bushnell one is a 4-12 which would make a good coyote scope. They look terrible but if they work well Id consider getting one.

Cheers!!

they work on the basis of a known height ( ie 18 inches) at a certain power will give you the distance- there's a little window on top that gives you the yardage- you fit the target area between the two horizontal wires and that gives you the distance- my old scopechief even has the bullet drop compensator as well so you can dial the whole works in- change the ammo in any way and you're screwed- i don't like them for 2 reasons- 1 - i find 2 stadia wires confusing in my sight picture
2 you never seem to have the right drum(bdc) in the scope
and you always have to stick to factory of equivilent loads- to give you the same poi( not really a problem as i reload)
buy a good laser rangefinder or go mildot

If you've got $4000 to burn you could get a new Zeiss

Seriously though I'm sure we will see the laser rangefinders blending with the scopes and getting cheaper with more features like auto compensation for range with your load data programed in.

I don't mind carrying a good binocular/rangefinder and sticking with non electronic scopes myself.
