I have had great success with Leupold. Korth is local. However I'm in the market for a new or used scope and now I'm wondering if there are other manufacturers who offer solid warranty in Canada. Who else actually takes care of Canadian customers?

I read the Vortex warranty and if they deliver it reads great.

Vortex warranty is legit and have had good luck with Bushnell. Even sent my Bushnell back in a competitors box and then sent me a new scope in a couple of weeks.

i have had warenty from vortex and minox in the last year. both were mail it back east and a week or so later recieve a new one in the mail. i have a few lueps just haven't needed to try for warenty in many years.

I've had good service from Bushnell. Faster would be better, but it was good. Most of my scopes are old Weavers so their warranty died with the original company, but Trace Scope Repair does good work on them for a reasonable cost. I have a couple of new Weavers too and their warranty is unlimited lifetime for the original owner but I think you have to send them to the U.S. and mine haven't failed yet so I'm not sure.

I sent a basically brand new Leupold FX-II handgun scope to Korth on Dec 3. According to Canada Post tracking they received it on the 6th. I emailed them a few days back just looking for an update. No one has returned my email. I understand that they are probably busy so I'll remain patient for a little while yet. Rest assured I will reply here with any updates. First warranty issue for me with any scope I've ever owned.

I just picked up a Nikon ProStaff and was told the warranties are covered from Mississauga.

Jeff.

I have had trouble with Nikon Canada. Everything I've sent in they claim is my fault and don't honour their warranty. Not impressed and I no longer own Nikons as a result. Others have had better luck but my experience has been negative and that's generally enough to loose a customer.

I own pretty much all Leupolds now and never looked back.

I have had several experiences with Bushnell, dealing in person with the Markham warranty facility. All were outstanding, in most cases the obsolete, many-years-old scopes I brought in were replaced on the spot with new and higher-grade optics. I have heard that dealing with them by mail can be very slow.

One experience with Swarovski warranty service and it was very poor. The binocular was rebuilt cosmetically, and an upgrade was performed on the diopter adjustment...but the complaint for which I originally brought it in was completely ignored. It took them the better part of a year for that "service". I don't know if they sent it to Austria, or maybe off-planet, but I was not happy.

Zeiss took very good care of me the single time I needed them. Binocular again, and close to ten years old, came back like new within a couple of months. Nice.

Leupold has been quick and trouble-free for me several times on riflescopes. Problem always corrected, turn-around time never more than a couple of weeks.

Nikon will never see another dollar of mine. Dealt in person with the Mississauga depot. Very rude and abrupt service rep. Warranty denied, and the best (?) part was that she quoted me a price for the repair before even asking what the problem was! The cost was very nearly enough to just throw the binocular away (not their high-grade product), but I decided to pay it. The work was done properly, but I'm done with them.

It is nice to see that others have had good success with Bushnell claims. The one time I had to deal with Bushnell for warranty work they were excellent

Nikon seems to make good scopes that receive good reviews..BUT after reading what others have said with regards to their warranty i guess I will continue to stick with my Bushnell elite 3200 and 4200 scopes

Thanks folks, my experience with Leupold and Korth was with a M8 2.5X Compact that must have been over 30 years old. The scope rattled after unloading from a cross country move. They returned it in almost new condition in a few weeks. RCBS treated me the same on an old lubricizer. I remain loyal to both but always willing to consider other suppliers.

I just learned about the Leupold warranty issue around some boxstore supplied scopes. The local Bass Pro noted that Leupold warranty on their scopes required return to the US. The border is becoming a rapidly closing door anymore from both directions. Regardless of any issue surrounding this controversy that does concern me.

I'm outfitting a CZ 527 American just picked up used, thanks Chris. It has the little Compact on it now.

This rifle suits a small scope and has the modified bolt handle for eyepiece clearance. This will help me narrow down choices a bunch.

My Swaro had a head on collision with a scree field, three week turn around from the depot in New York on a 15 year old scope that I wasn't even the original purchaser. Top notch service.
Past experience with Leupolds warranty was decent, the one time I dealt with Bushnell it was a gong show.

I lost a screw on my Vortex due to my own carelessness. Called the 1-800 number and they shipped me a whole new set of screws for FREE. Came pretty quick considering it had to come from the US too...
