There used to be a lot of threads around discussing optics on the Swiss rifles...

But I don't recall any decision on what worked best in different applications.
Maybe that means just about anything will work?

I am having good success with an old Elite 3000 1.5 - 4.5, for close to medium-short ranges (50 - 150 yds)

I use a Eotech...prolly not the best optic. I want a fancy short Leupold at some point. The Version that 'Ardent' had looks like a sweet scope for quick shots and helping with the overall weight.

I need to learn about scopes and look forward to the contributions in this thread.

I use a 5x33 scope (30mm tube) that has a bullet drop compensator cammed for 55 grain .223 loads, works very well out to the 200 meters or so that I shoot at. I have it mounted on an ARMS #5 riser rail which is in turn mounted on the factory scope rail

DAR, let's see a pic of that set up, if you don't mind?

Any of the long eye relief MR/T scopes are good and the ELCAN is not a bad option either but you will need the clip on cheek rest to go with it.

that gun needs Paint.....:D

what scope is it?

I would guess a short-Dot would be the cats arse on a SIG

I had a demo first gen Spectre DR sitting on my Classic Green last time I went to Wolverine Supplies. Didn't get to fire it with the scope on but the eye relief was perfect and the clarity is incredible.

I'm saving my pennies to get one before summer.

I use a Docter Optic on a CQB. Compact gun deserves a compact sight. The 3.5 MOA dot works well and the auto-illumination feature does it's job well. But because I have it on a add-on rail, the overall height of the Docter's base prevents the use of iron sights. Should co-witness perfectly if you have the integral picatinny rail receiver.

It is an ATN 5x33L, works great and I absolutely love it! The rifle does need some paint though... looks like a toy! I figure a few years down the road I will get it Duracoated to a color a little more tactical.

I just tried out an IOR 4x28 M2 on the BlueStar this weekend. Mounted with an ARMS #35 mount and rings. It is a quite nice scope and the cam tracked well from 100m to 400m with 55gr Dirty Bird. Seemed low at 500m but ran out of time to really check it out at that range.

I have a Nightforce NXS 5.5x22x56 but I find it a bit heavy.
I used it for varmit hunting this fall on my friends deer hunting trip.
Sure gets a lot of looks from the area farmers.
