Scoping a TOZ 78

Any advice, tips on putting a scope on this?
I'd like to have a "see through" mount so I don't have to take off the existing sights.
Dosn't want to take standard 22 dovetail rings.

The Toz dovetail is unique. I had to order BKL weaver mounts and tweak them a bit for them to fit. The dovetail is less than 9 mm.
 
They are european dovetails and are just slightly too small for normal north american dovetail rings... :(

I used the rings from http://www.futong.com/catalog/item/2129575/1576071.htm

I mounted a 4x tasco on it without having to remove the sights!

I think it looks ok!

The Toz 78 has an 11mm dovetail. I bought some high see through mounts off ebay for $10 that fit just fine and they allow me to use the irons or the scope. I just ordered a PO 6x40 S from Kalinka which im gonna set up on the Toz. There are a few people on the board that mounted bushnell banner 4-12x40 w/AO's on their tozs' and they have nothing but praise for the combination.

I sure wish that I had bought 2 of those guns when they were selling them for $100.

I'm pretty sure it's 9mm on the Toz. Anschutz has 11mm. The standard North American size is 3/8" which is just over 9.5mm. Some mounts cover a wider range of dovetail sizes. I used a 9-11mm mount on mine.
 
I mounted a cheap Bushnell Rimfire on mine, no problems with the rings .... However, I've had a bipod ready to mount on it for almost a year and no matter what I try I just can't seem to get the darned sling swivel screw to budge !

Because its Russian engineered to never accidentally fall out... Just drink a bottle of vodka and rip it out with your bare hands!! ARGGHHH!!!:runaway:
 
Trust me .. after much trial and error .. the TOZ dovetail is around 8.5 mm.
All of the above suggestions look good. Wish I had asked you boys earlier instead of playing around with about 3 mounting scenarios!! nice work!

guys, do not argue....I just bought standard 3/8 rings from Wholesale, and they perfectly fit to my TOZ-17......all TOZs have the same dovetail 9mm, or 3/8.....just take your gun to the store and ask about 3/8 dovetail rings.....

The see through ones for Futong.com don't fit. But there non see through ones do. I pust a tasco varmint 2.5-10x42 on mine. Didn't have to remove the sights either.....Then I went to far and put on a bi-pod....the accessories are bigger than the gun.
