Scoping AG42b with Russian side mount?

Ljungman side mount

Apparently there is provision for a mount on the left hand side of to receiver. The only way to find out is to remove the action from the stock. I haven't pulled mine yet (action that is:redface: ), you go first.

I'll check into it. I think the mount system should work. Just wondering if brass ejection hitting the scope will be a problem.

That's a tough call, I have an extra action, however until you have both the action and the mount in your hands, it's anybodies guess as to whether it'll fit or not. The action is not flat on the side, there is a small ridge just above the mounting holes. It appears the mounting holes are not parallel to the axis of the bore so you would require rings with windage adjustment. Bill.

this setup looks good, still can't figure out the mount type...

I made my own like that, only I had it on both sides of the receiver. It required a strip along the bottom on both sides to space it out from the rail on the side of the receiver. I drilled and tapped 2 holes on each side for it. It was basically 5 pieces of flat steel plus the 2 spacers on the bottom. I built it from the bottom up, with the pieces bolted to the receiver, welding on the top as I went.

You can buy weaver rail that is flat on the bottom and all you need to do is drill and tap to mount it on whatever flat surface you fabricate. You could easily make something like that one pictured with a small welder, instead of any bending.
