scoping an SKS...Magwedge vs .Wartak

Wartak doesn't have the iron sight feature or the quick remove pin.

They are both really good scope mounts. Both deflect shells, both mount similar and utilize the same solid platform.

I've got Wartak and it's very solid. When I clean the rifle I just remove the rear connection, flip it up and clean. It maintains zero. Never tried the other one.

Main differences are as follows:

1. the Magwedge is a single piece of 6061 aluminum, not two pieces screwed together

2. the Magwedge has a groove down the center of the rail so you can see the front sight and use it as an emergency sight

3. the Magwedge is set slightly lower to the receiver and offers a slightly better cheek weld.

4. We include a quick release pin, or Kwik Pin with every SKS rail purchase from our web site.

There are a couple of other threads on the very same topic in this forum, and the Search function should help you find them.

Are the CanadaAmmo ones Gen1 or Gen2?

They are gen 2 ... not sure how many they have in stock. I stopped supplying gen1 to dealers over a year ago.

I think they offer a better price than my website but do not include the KP.

That's just an FYI, by the way ... I do not compete with my dealers.

You will find a list of links to Magwedge dealers on my website, buy from whoever is most convenient to you.

Go with the Magwedge. It's better designed, and Magwedge is a small, innovative company, receptive to the market's needs. It's not a big defense contractor that rips off other people's ideas.

Magwedge is always stepping it up with their customer service, just check any thread on CGN that deals with their products. That alone says a lot in my books and I don't use any of their products, if I had a Vz58 or was ready to give up using stripper clips on either of my sks's id use their rail system over wartak.

Very kind of you Bill ... and I think that soon enough I may have something you will find suitable to add to your SKS.

When I sell a certain amount of my current inventory it will be time to trot out the 2015 version of the KwikRail.
