Good morning gentlemen, I have a pristine condition 1934 91/30 that has been sitting in the safe for years and I figure it's time to scope it. I plan to use cast boolits in it and the barrel slugs at a nice and tight
.312 so I expect it will be a good shooter. I ordered an S&K mount that attaches to the rear sight because I wanted to keep it as original as possible (didn't want to screw around with bending bolts, drill/tap etc).

Anyway, I am hoping people that have a scout scope set up can chime in on optics. What scope did you go with and why? I see that lots use the ncstar 2x7x32 ler scope for around 80$ any positives / negatives on this scope? Thanks.

I got a Hilux LER 2-7x32 for my Mosin using a UTG mount. I don't have experience with the NcStar scope, but the consensus is that NcStar optics are pretty much hit and miss on whether you get a working one or not. YMMV.

i have a few of them scoped.....2 of them with Aim scopes. one 2-7x32 and one 2-7x42. I have one with a Leupold LER as well. so far the Aim scopes have been doing the job without issue on S&K mounts. I wasn't expecting much due to price but have been pleasantly surprised with them. Each has seen a few hundred rounds since they were mounted. Holding zero no problem and reticles intact. The Leupold of course is issue free as well but was 9x more expensive. Hope that helps.
ps good choice on the S&K, you'll be pleased and can always return the rifle to original.

Good to hear thanks tungngroove - I ordered an aim scope on amazon figured I will go cheap to start because I have never used the scout scope setup before and I am not sure if I will like it.
