So my CQA finally arrived from the Marstar deal. Now I want to scope it and see how she shoots. Questions...will a extra high set of rings be enuff or will I need a riser also. I don't want to add the hand mount to it as this will be way to high. Just need enuff so that I can use the rail on it.I have either a 3x9x40 I can use on it or a 2x7x33 leupold vari x 2 I can use. The nearest gun store to me is 2 hours away...thoughts??

I think I have med rings on 1 FT AR with a Leupold 2-7X33. I tried a 3-9X40 and the Med didn't work. I think (not sure) I tried it with high rings and it worked. If you're traveling, is it possible to take at least the upper with you (iirc the serial # is on the lower?) and the 2 scopes. Even if you had to get an statt it woudl prolly save you a trip.

I sem to recall it wasn't the rail section that was the pia, it was the handguard that comes up higherthan the rail that was blocking things.

We went with a GG&G QD mount & a Bushnell Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 scope. Plenty of power at the high range and low enough for fast acquisition at 1.25x... IIRC we leave them set at 2x to eliminate the shadow of the front post on the M4...

Cheers
Jay
