Does it worth it? I mean, a 200 box mount plus the rings, with a 300 box scope on a 500$ rifle, what shoot I expect?
(BTW the gas system if unitize and a R33 guide will be add shortly)

thanks

Cheap mounts may work, or they may not.

I have used most of the M14 mounts out there and the two best mounts I have used are the ARMS #18, and Smith Enterprises mounts. They are pricey, but they are well worth the $$$$$$.

Cheap mounts will more then likely give you problems with alignment and staying tight. Also go with a steel mount over aluminum.Aluminum deforms too easily.

If you see any pics of M14s from the Sandbox, they will either have a ARMS or Smith mount on them (I am excluding the KAC M14 RAS and other rail systems).

go for it, just make sure you get a secure mounting system that wont flex or loosen. ie. arms or smith. some people have had luck with springfield mounts as well.

edit....k 2x what skullboy said, his post came up b4 mine while i was typing:redface:

The Springfield mount is the bottomline mount I would buy IF you can find one new for $120.00 Cdn or so.They usually retail for $250.00 ish Cdn.

If it is installed correctly (loc-tited and mated to the side of the reciever with a hammer - YES, that is in the instructions as it is an Aluminum mount:eek: . And I have owned one.....).

SOme get by with cheaper mounts, eg, B-Square, etc.But for a match rifle and peak accuracy, spend the bucks and get a top quality mount.

With the difficulties in getting the top line mounts here in Canada, they also hold their resale value.;)

I just got a the Smith Enterprise for $105 USD, it's the Weaver style one that is discountinued.

That is an Excellent deal.;)
If not having a Picatinney Spec is no biggie, then grab one of those discontinued mounts before they are all gone!!!
