Just picked up several cases of 1 1/8 oz, 1300 FPS Score Super Rapid Target 7.5 shot shells at a great price from Tenda and am anxious to try them out.

Have experimented with several different manufacturers and loads but to date my Tac Ord Versa Max Tactical definitely prefers the higher velocity Winchester AA’s and its been the only shot shells I can rely on in IPSC or 3 Gun matches to cycle flawlessly. Needless to say the AA’s are more expensive and the higher velocity loads are not always easy to find so would be great to find a good alternative...especially a Canadian made alternative.

Anyone using these Score Super Rapid Target in this load in their semi’s and if so what do you think?

Those loads run well in my VersaMax.

IMO, if your VM needs 1 1/8oz 1300 fps to cycle reliably, something is not right with it. Is it new?

Mine runs on everything down to the few 7/8 oz I've tried.

What kind of issue are you having running lighter loads in your VM?

Mine initially wouldn't run some loads. The lifter didn't seem to have enough power to lift them up. Turned out to be a weak recoil spring. An extra power spring from Wolff (Listed as a Benelli Super 90 spring. Same one though. Sku #16095) solved my issues. It cycles a lot faster now too; I used to be able to out-run it, and can't anymore.

My VM is well used 3 year old with Casey’s TLC from time to time. Lower power loads will cycle okay, but ‘okay’ is not good enough for me....and definitely not in a match situation. My bar for ‘reliably’ cycling is very high....and as originally stated ...to date the Winchester AA have been the only rounds I can just shoot and forget about.

Thrilled to hear these Score loads run well for you Stevo as would be great to find an alternate ...especially readily accessible Canadian alternative...to the AA’s.

Unfortunately it’s likely going to be a week or more before I can get to the range to test them out.

Edit to add: Stevo, are you running something like Tac Ords lighted bolt in you VM?

I've been running Score 1250fps 1 1/8oz shells in my VM the last couple years. I prefer the Challenger Handicap 1 1/8oz but the Scores are OK. I won't claim high reliability though, though I mostly blame the VM and not the ammo.

Score 1-1/8oz 1200+fps is what I run in my versamax and I've had 100% so far using that ammo, even with their low recoil slugs and their buckshot I haven't had a single hicup I can think of.
