Scorpion Evo 3 - Response from CZ

So i've been poking and proding for about a week or so about the Scorpion Evolution 3 and if they will ever make way to canada..

On the forum it looks like someone was trying to bring them in, but there was no semi-only version availiable. I poked a few canadian retailers to see if they had heard anything, or were trying. Most of them said semi's were not available, no ETA. After some googling I found there was apparently a semi version available over seas, or was in the works.

I decided to try and ask CZ, so I did. Heres what I got.

Just wondering if/when CZ may make a civilian/semi only version of the CZ Scorpion Evolution 3. I'm eager to have one here in Canada.

thank you for your interest in our guns. We have semi auto version of CZ Scorpion EVO3 but unfortunatelly due to Canadian law we are not able to sell it on your market. We are working on some changes on this gun.

I sent off an email back asking for details on what criteria is not met. My assumption is that perhaps they are select firing models, with semi-only trigger group and what not, therefore a converted automatic. (Maybe someone else has a better clue?)

Anyway just figured i'd post my findings...as i'm dying to have one of these.

The ones I've played with at the factory are all based off the same mould. So I suppose one could simply buy the FA trigger pack and put it in the SA gun. Although this is not so different from other guns available in Canada already.

Thank you for the response! Could you please tell me what part about them makes them unable to be sold here? My guess is, the EVO3's that are semi-automatic used to be fully automatic, but converted to semi-automatic only later on? I know if they are built from the beginning as semi-automatic only (Not a converted from fully automatic) they are legal to use.

The EVO Skorpion is one the top of my list........, I hope it can be brought in.

I just saw in the most recent GUNS & AMMO , an add for the EVO 3 S1 Skorpion, .. $ 849.00 USD.
I hope this will pass in Canada.
