I traded for a .223 Savage in the EE a while back. When I got it I didn't like the stock, so I bought a MDT chassis for it. It came with a Scorpion Optics 4-16 scope on it that seemed to work okay, I shot it at the farm with the old stock and was getting decent groups. After I got the Chassis on it, I took it up north to some crown land and shot some rounds through it. I kept having my zero wander all over and it appeared that the scope was tilted in the rings. I took it out to the shop after I got home and put a level on it, looked through the scope and the reticle was twisted way off to the right.
I threw the rifle in my safe for a while until something else caught my eye and I decided to part with it. I took the scope off and sold it for what I had into it, basically broke even. For months the scope has been sitting in a box in my shop. I was cleaning up the other day and was going to toss it out. For whatever reason I remembered the Scorpion Optics ads on Wild TV and vaguely remember them boosting about warranty for life or something. I went inside and checked it out on the computer. I couldn't find that model on the warranty claim, so I just printed the sheet off and mailed it away. My wife was annoyed I paid $20 to ship a broken scope back, but I told her it was worth a shot.
Three days later Bob from Scorpion Optics calls me and said that they got my scope and it is indeed broke. I asked if it was still covered and he said yes it was, but they didn't make it anymore. He said it was $300 new and if I wanted I could check their website out and get something around that price. I checked the website out and found a $300 pair of binoculars and phoned him back to see if they were good to go. He said he would put them in the mail that day. So for $20 shipping I got a $300 pair of binoculars. Not sure about their rifle scopes, but I figured binoculars at pretty hard to screw up, and I would use them far more than a rifle scope.
Just wanted to share as I was pretty impressed with Bob and his willingness to honor the warranty no questions asked. Like I said, not sure how great some of their products are, but the warranty is fantastic.
