Gidday,

I'm looking for a $200 range scope, between 2-4X magnification, for mounting on a hunting rifle, forward of the receiver ring, on the barrel.

I'm thinking that the eye relief would be about 12 inches or so.

Anyone have any suggestions?

(The rifle is an already bubba'd Enfield.)

Another option is the Leopold 2.5x28mm IER Scout scope, available at Wholesale Sports (or at least its mentioned on the website):

FIXED POWER SCOPES · FX-ll 2.5 x 28mm
Finish - Matte • Power - 2.5x28mm • Reticle - Duplex. • Lgth. (in.) - 10.1 • Wt. (oz.) - 7.5 • FOV at 100 yds. - 22
Mfr. # 58810 · 213738
$349.95

Also, I suppose you could mount one of the handgun scopes which have sufficient eye relief.

I need to decide between the Burris or Leupold Scout scopes for my shortie M1A which has a new forward mount.

Every now and then a used one shows up on the radar. My used 2.75X Burris Scout got tired and I replaced it with an even older 2X Leupold EER with friction adjustments. One of these days that rifle will get a new scope, but not any time soon I hope.
