I want to have a scout mount as like these pics but on my M305. How does one go about doing this? Them mount is on the barrel right and not on the upper handguard?
That looks like the Springfield Armory scout mount. It clamps around the barrel and you need to cut out the handguard if you don't get a pre-cut one with it.

Marstar sells a short scout mount made from steel. It is made to fit the chinese barrel profile (not sure if it fits the USGI, USGI is slightly thinner outside diameter)
This is the only cheap mount that is worth considering...and just happens to be scout mount.
You'll have to cut your handguard with a hole. Obviously, test and mount without handguard to fine the sweet spot before you start cutting too big of a hole.
Something else to consider with this type of mount is cheek weld... depending on the optic that you want to use you may need to also consider a cheek rest... I have a Springfield SOCOM 16 with the scout mount installed from the factory and even with the lowest mount I could find my Aimpoint sits too high to be useful without a cheek rest... ymmv however.
The Ultimak gets my vote. Definately the lowest forward optic mount I have encountered.
Legally importable from brownells but first try Wolverine Supplies or rick at AlbertaTacticalRifle.
