scout rifle

In the near future I plan on buying another Mosin Nagant M44 and making a scout rifle out of it and am doing some research on mounts and scopes. I have no clue what mount to buy but i do not want to drill holes in it. I want something like the B square but will it hold zero? And for scopes i've heard of BSA and NC star for a cheap price. I'm not looking for a scope over $150 but around $100 would be nice. What would you guys reconmend for mounts and scopes and where could i get them?

I've used the scout mount that goes in the rear sight bracket. It took a while to get it sturdy. You see them all the time on eBay for $25 or so.

I used a bushnell red dot.

Done it.

Parts Mosin from Century, M-44 stock, and a hacksaw.
B-Square and a cheap Chinese pistol scope when Century was still in Canada.

Killed two bears with it.
