I have been reloading for nearly 5 years now.
When I started I took a plastic bucket which held swimming pool chlorine and drilled a 1" hole in the cover.
Whenever I had a scrap piece of brass or primers I tossed them in the bucket.
I guess I don't scrap that much brass since it took me 5 years to fill the bucket.
I got $93 for 60lbs or $1.55/lb

What are you guys getting for your recycled brass?

I got around 16$ for 10.5 pounds of 308 (15+ firings) and some scrap 223 brass. I know for next time I'll leave all primers in brass. Cause they don't give you a better rate without primers. Majority of the 308 were ss tumbled and deprimed.

I sort and clean the brass from the Club. Most is .22 rimfire. Some places will not take brass that might have duds in or has target pieces or staples and dirt in it.
I have to sift through it on a mesh frame, cull the duds and live rounds, run a magnet through it to fish out any staples or nails, then shake it over a blower to get out the paper and dirt then run it through my fingers one handful at a time into a grain bag checking again for duds. With the centrefire, I cull out the nickel plated cases. I still only get about $1.50/lb
Doing this every 2 years or so pays for the lumber for a new target trolley plus other range incidentals.

Been a while since I scrapped out any brass but iirc was in the $ 1.68 range.

Some places wont take in no matter what. Others don't care. Shop around, prices can vary by as much as 25 cents per pound from one end of town to the other.

I was told $1.50/lb, but when I went inside they said "Oh no, it's a risk of us taking it so it's only $1.00/lb." So there I was just starting to get all PO'ed when they screw up and exchange it to Kilo's.
I stay calm, the lady does her number's and give's me a lot more then I thought it was.I say "Thank's" and walk out. Get a way down the road and her conversion was completely off! She'd doubled my weight in lbs!

brass copper and aluminum, the three I scrap, have dropped significantly in the last 5 years, copper is down about 35% from what it was 5 years ago

last reloadable range brass I sold was $2.50/lb

I had to sort it so it was all reloadable brass, no badly damaged cases, no rimfire, aluminum, steel etc... (small children.. forced labor..) Value added.
