screw size for scope mount m14s

does someone know the size of the threads on side of receiver to mount a scope mount?
I was putting arms 18 scope mount on receiver and
somehow stripped bolt however receiver threads are
intact,thank god for strong receivers and soft screws.took the mount and rifle to gunsmith and watched while he successfully exhausted all his many screws.Is the size the same as
original m14 and m1a?
any info would help

Yes, it is the same size as the original M14. I think it's something like #10-32tpi It's a UNEF thread pitch (that's Unified National Extra Fine)
 
Good luck finding one! (very odd size) I did the same and ended up calling the manufacture of the mount (in my case Smith Enterprises) who sold be a replacement for $10. I should have called them in the first place, I probably spent $10 in gas looking for one :D

just after sitting down to send out a request for the size,
gunsmith found proper size in one of his many tickle trunks
