Screwed up M305 from Al Simmons (and what they did about it)

First thing first, the gal that works there is absolutely wonderful! I got my second M305 from them, and when it came I noticed the front sight was drifted waaaayyyy over to the right, actually overlapping the sight base. The first thing I did was strip the rifle to see in it was just the F.S. off center. Well, the whole barrel was indexed wrong, so much so that the op rod guide was putting enough tension on the op-rod that it was noticably hard to cycle and the rod when rearward was visibly tensioned away from the reciever enough so that the rod wanted wanted to dis-assemble itself from the bolt when in the rearward position. Also, the rear sight aperature was drilled off center BADLY. They handpicked that rifle for dark woodcolor on request, and even offered to just exchange barreled actions. I just said it would be simpler to send the complete rifle and guess what, SHE IS SHIPPING A HANDPICKED ONE IMMEDIATELY!!!! I would have expected them to wait for my returned one to arrive, so I asked them to pick out one and hold it until then, but she told me she would do the transfer and exchange and ship it today! (Mine will be in the mail system in an hour when the g.f. brings the car back, so I haven't even shipped mine) She told me I could ship it whenever I get a chance, now that's a small town mindset! I will DEFINITELY be dealing with them again and I would recommend them to anyone else as well, they are very good people! I couldn't be more impressed with my first rifle from them, or the customer service I have just recieved. Just had to write about this.

Yeah but remember 45acpking, Paulette picked me the best of what was left BEFORE I wrote the thread;) Sorry:) . She said I mustve posted something because the phone started ringing and she sold the last two in mins. and had calls coming after that! LOL

She says she's got more coming in a couple weeks and they are NOT coming from marstar.
 
My buggered up one is sitting at the IGA in the postal section right now, on its way back to Al Simmons', and after that, she's sending it back to the distributor she got it from. So no one is getting it. If I was better off $$wise I'd have ordered another and kept the buggered one for parts.

I hang out there shooting the ####, asking questions and looking at all the new toys and am always made to feel welcome and never made to feel like I have to buy something to be welcome.
 
No worries 45acpking. Dave sold me one of his personal m14 rifles. Said it was a pick of the litter back in the days when they came with long mags. Real nice wood, 3 long mags so I should be good to go.
