I realize that the Axis trigger job threads are getting kind of old, but this is a bit different. I took apart the wife's Axis last night while contemplating doing a trigger job on it. Looking at the spring and where it threads into the trigger I noticed that the spring was not threaded all the way in and the yellow threading compound was very thin. I removed the spring and cleaned the remaining compound out of the threads. I then threaded the spring back in as far as it would go. I manger to drop the trigger pull down from 5.5 to 4.5 lbs just by screwing in the spring. Never heard of anyone doing this before. I tried searching it And all I could get was references to the spring cutting job that has become the common "fix". It's my wife's rifle and she is a relative newby to shooting so I don't want it much lighter than that anyhow.
Sorry for posting another Axis trigger thread. I just thought it was an easy fix that someone might be I retested in.
