scuba tank for PCP

Go to a dive shop, most of them have used gear for sale including dive cylinders. Tell your story to the owner/manager so he knows where you're coming from. Personally, I would hand him a letter signed by your good self certifying that the charged cylinder will be strictly used for charging your gun and nothing else. Anyway, you will not be the first to ask him and your letter gives him some kind of a waiver in case you use it for other means. Implicitly, he would then accept for refills when ever required but it is wise to have that confirmed.

Here's the catch and the cash:
a) Buy the darn thing, +/- 100 to 150$;
b) You will have to get a visual inspection done on it every 12 months, +/- 15$;
c) Each refill will cost you +/- 10 to 15$ each (they may have a refill card for cheaper);
d) Your dive cylinder requires hydrostatic testing every 5 years, +/- 35$;
e) If you buy used, depreciate selling price in line will remaining time before Hydro test;
f) the darn charging line (fittings from cylinder to gun) may cost as much as the cylinder.

In case are looking for cheap refills from friend who dives, you will find that divers are cheap SOB when it comes to air: they want to keep it for bottom time or safety/decompression stops. If you can actually fuel up from friends cylinders, do make sure it is compressed air. If you refill with enriched air (Nitrox), the high % of O2 level may/will react with oil in your gun and dramatically scrap it while giving you an unwelcome facelift. Not intended to be funny, this is serious.

If you shoot occasionally, work the hand pump. If you shoot a lot, become a diver! If you do not buy, you can rent a cylinder for big weekends.

Hope this help on your decision.
Cheers,

I'm a certified diver...

I have never ever been asked for a card... ever...

From filling tanks to renting gear to buying gear I've never been asked. Not once.

7 out of 7 places I went to never asked squat and were very happy to do it.

The only time I got asked for a ticket was Rotan when I was getting onto a dive boat every other time I was never asked ever.
