so the other day i had to get rid of a 45 gallon drum filled with different freezer meats aquired from a hoarders house. i figured since the bear hunt is over i might as well start baiting 'yotes early. last night i heard them yipping in the direction of the bait. is it to early in the season to start sitting over the bait? I havn't checked it yet but that's my plan after work today.

Good luck baiting yotes... thise buggers are smart.... First year I hunted them I began saving all of my meat scraps up and throwing them in a big garbage can until full.... then took it out to a spot where I hunt them and set up a bait pile... they hit it every night.... but never legal shooting hours.....

Coyotes are like the carniverous version of a squirrel.... they eat and eat... then they literally dig holes in the ground and puke into them and cover them up so they can come back later.....

I bait in the winter, make sure you can chain it to a tree so they can't drag it into the bush. Most coyotes hit it at dark but if its cold they will hit it any time of the day.

A lot of the time we will just use bait to get the coyotes in our block, cut a fresh track coming from the bait, release the hounds and get ready :D

We usually wait until winter but like I said I had the bait and it had to go. I think me and a buddy are going to try "o boy food" yips to try and trick them into thinking another pair of 'yotes has moved into their bait. We have lots of brush wolves to.
