Was wondering if anyone has any info on the Sears model 80.
On the barrel it says Sears model #80,LR only, made in Canada for simpson sears.
It is a clip fed semiauto. I'm trying to find a clip for it but can't find any info on this rifle.
Any info would be appreciated.......................Thanks J

Smart move!

It may be the Winchester Model 74, 14-shot magazine, .22 LR :

I don't think any Winchester Model 74s were sold as house branded guns. From looking at those cross-reference charts, I would say that Winchester didn't get into making house brand guns until the post-'64 era.

Marlin, then?

There are a few Sears-branded versions of the Marlin Model 80, but this is a bolt action .22.

Given that the rifle in question is made in Canada and has a detachable magazine, I wonder if it is a Cooey Model 64, which has also been manufactured by Lakefield and Savage.

I think the OP said the rifle in question was/is a semi-automatic?

IIRC, the Sears 6C was the "alternative name" for the semi-automatic Cooey 64.....not the Sears 80? :yingyang:

without pics, it is really hard to guess what it is. My diggings showed it as a JCHiggins pistol.

I forgot to ask if it was a rifle or pistol...........we need more info? :)

The Sears 6C was a Canadian made Cooey 64 but in the USA there was a Sears 6C that was entirely different than the cooey 64. I googled and found a picture of this USA made Sears 6C

I also have a Sears 8C which is identical to all the Cooey 64s I also have in Cooey 64, 64A and 64B by Lakefield.

Thanks for all the info guys.
I hadn't seen the rifle in person I was going with the description my dad was giving me and it probably is the 8c..............Thanks again....J
