Seating Problem?

I'm having a problem with seating some of my .45ACP reloads. The slide on my Tanfoglio Witness 1911 does not close all the way with SWC bullets. The conical bullet reloads and factory ammo works fine. When I remove the barrel, I can slide a factory or conical bullet reload into the chamber all the way but the SWC cartridge does not go all the way in. The overall length of all 3 cartridges is identical, seems that the shoulder of the SWC is the problem here. I'm afraid to seat the bullet further into the case with my Dillon SDB (which would solve the problem). Any ideas would be welcomed.

Put a harder taper crimp on the SWC's by screwing the crimping/seating die down lower. Keep the bullet seating depth the same as before. This will resolve the problem most of the time. Remove your barrel and drop a few test rounds in the chamber by hand in order to test the fit. Bullets should fall free of the barrel when you turn it up-side-down. Good luck.
