On watch this morning and shortly after 09:00 this female coyote comes meandering through the aspen grove nose to the ground. She was quartering towards me left to right at about 80 yards. I let her get to about 60 yards and put the crosshairs on her right shoulder and squeezed the trigger.

She spun around 6 or 7 times growling and then dropped nose first into some grasses maybe 10 feet from where she was shot. DRT. Good exit wound on her left side between rib 5 and 6 which I was not expecting.

Nice thick fur.

Sako Finnfire in .17 HMR using Hornady Varmint Express V-Max 17 grain ammunition.

Good job but where did the pic get to? Sounds like there was one in the thread unless its something in my settings not enabling me to see it?
Had kind of the same sort of deal a week or so ago. Sitting on watch in my ground blind for deer when this one came walking through the pasture I am overlooking. About a 100 yd shot with the 270, lol. Somewhat similar results. 5 or 6 spins then ran off to the fenceline a few yards away and dropped dead. Spun and done!! :p
