second post

Welcome.

I believe the idea behind the number of post to show participation, was to ensure that people are actually participating. I don't think these numbered posts actually show that.

Secondly I believe the posts need to be in actual forums, not the newbie thread.

Look through the forums and find some threads and participate. You'll get EE access before you know it.

Again, welcome to the club.

No need to post to announce that you are active. The dot next to your name changes from white to green as a sign that you are active.
