This gun came to me as a project. As per title, it is a Husky 6.5 x 55 Mauser action. I am not knowledgeable as to the Mauser variations, M96, M98, large ring, small ring, etc. I am looking to drop it in a nice Boyds Prairie Hunter stock. Boyds states that their inletting for Husky are "large ring #1 barrel contour". The gun was made in 19*1 as the date stamp was drilled out for bases. Note that the barrel is stepped down twice, once near the action and once halfway up the barrel or so. The spacing between action screws in 7 5/8". So, the question is, will the Boyds offering fit this gun. Thanks in advance for your considerations.

This is an ex-military small ring M/38 made by Husqvarna. Look for "M96" or "small ring Mauser '96" inletting.

As a side note, "Husky" usually refers to some civilian rifles made by Husqvarna.

Thanks Baribal. I'll order an uninletted stock and since I have the original, I can duplicate the inlet on my duplicator.
