These look neat. And by neat, I mean way the F out of my price range. Some updates and some innovations to standardize features across their lineup. While not explicitly listed, it's hinted that they will be made in the new 7mm Backcountry as well if you ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE the latest and greatest of everything. Cool to see them trying new or updated things.

I have no need of swapping barrels... I can't think of a scenario where I can't have two or three rifles set up and ready to go. Maybe if gun laws get more restricted like in AUS

I like it more for a target rifle. I'm usually limited to shorter distance shooting so it's nice to be able to shoot something cheaper like a 223 and switch barrel to a more powerful chambering when circumstances allow for longer range shooting.

Very interesting advancements for sure.

Quick bolt disassembly, head change. Chassis style block in standard stocks with no bedding requirements. Quick change barrels with no "special" tools required. All prefit spec details.

I'm still surprised that the masses are reluctant to put together prefit rifle options at home with no special tools. I guess not enough people realize how easy it really is and still feel the need for a smith to put things together for them. I guess they are afraid of blowing themselves up or something weird like that.

I love the ease of interchangeability, and can't wait for the rest of mainstream suppliers to catch up to this. Kinda like the 10/22 stuff, but in centerfire form. I can choose how I want my rifle, and when I want to change things ups, its simple and I can do it at home.

You’re giving the majority of people too much credit, they can barely figure out how to mount bases/rail/rings and a scope.

I see where you are coming from, and logically one might assume as much.

I'm coming at this from a different angle;

-There are some great shooting Tikkas with prefit barrels - user installed

-There are some great shooting Savages with interchangeable bolt faces

-Seekins has held tolerances to +/-0.0005" on their scope rings for over a decade (they have OEM'd the Vortex PMR's since the beginning)

-Seekins rifles have a much better track record for accuracy (and customer service) than their peers in the industry

Perhaps I am setting myself up for disappointment with such high expectations - in reality, I don't know any more than you (or anyone else) regarding these new lines... But I think companies like DesertTech and PGW have set the bar pretty high.

I'll concede it's unlikely we'll see any of these at the line in a BR match, where raw accuracy rules the day... But I suspect the new Seekins platform will compete favorably against any other factory offering!

That's my prediction, anyway 👍

Tl;dr

Interchangeability at the expense of accuracy.
Nah, I wouldn't think that at all.

I run a bench rifle in a chassis right now. Regular 700 footprint, cadex action with IBI barrel. I can pull it out, and put it back into the chassis how ever many times I want and not get any POI shot movement.

I did remove the barrel off the action last fall to do a full clean, and then re installed. I have marks on the barrel and action so I can screw it on exactly as I took it off. This is easy to do with the "savage" style barrel nut on the ibi pipe. I don't recall a huge POI shift after with maybe a few clicks here or there. I'm no smith, with no special tools, no barrel vise or action wrenches required. Everything is prefit. In fact most people would never believe me if I told them I did 1/4 turn or more after the go gauge when I installed my barrel. Less headspace than sammi spec. I hardly have to size even new brass after 1st firing. Around 2300 rounds down that pipe now and still pushing 139 gr tips near or over 2900 fps, and I usually do 50 round stings when I shoot that rifle.

This system looks even easier. Snap barrel tight, lock it in with tension screw and off to the races. Integrated chassis block in a standard stock with matching flat surfaces that snap together alleviates any micro misalignment.

Can't wait for the rest of the world to start going this route.
