Hey Guys....there seem to be a few threads looking for info on these, so being as my two rolled in today, I thought I'd share :)

OK:
1. S-O-L-I-D....like seriously. The main tube walls have to be 1/4" thick....very impressive.

2. Tiny! These things are seriously short.

3. The #1 question: How does the illumination work? There is what looks like a scope ring with a battery compartment....this is the illumination module. It's indexed to the tube so it only goes on one way, and there is a little rubber button on the top. Push it and the X hairs glow....tap it a few more times, and the brightness goes up to "stupid bright". At any time (after the initial 10 seconds or so) tap it once for off, and when you turn it on again it will be at the last setting. I like it. The reticle is fully visible without the module in place or turned on, it's just black instead of red.

4. "Hunting" or "Tactical" models. From what I can tell, the only difference between the two is that the "hunting" model has the gold ring on the front, the "Tactical" is just flat black.

5. Mounting: They have an integrated mount, and are shipped with spacers to raise the scope to your preferred height. The integrated base just "happens" to scre right to an ARMS mount as well. Large thubscrew, solid base, it is very solid.

6. Reticle: I believe in the prototype stage the hunting model had a crosshair-dot, and the tactical had a circle ot. THeyve combined them into one reticle for all. I personally really like it :)

7. Glass: CRYTSAL clear. no complaints whatsoever.

If you guys have any specific questions, post 'em here and I'll answer in the AM....bedtime!

Heres some pics, and BTW: I have an extra if anybody is looking for one. The one I got for my deerfield isn't going to work, as with the weigand rail it;s too high, and it wont work on the burris ruger adapter rings either (the base is too long). :( It'll work on any regular mounting rail though)

Just a couple of questions, you'll have to excuse my ignorance. I have never had anything to do with mounting a scope on a ruger but I have just ordered a ruger compact stainless in .243 and thought one of those little prismatics would be just the thing for it. Are you saying the scope won't be able to be mounted on my ruger ? I've tried looking for pics on the net but can only find pics of it mounted on a ar type firearm. Thanks for any info. Jim
